All cats must be fully immunized against cat flu and feline enteritis. An up to date vaccination must be produced before admittance. A booster is required annually. No cat suffering from , or suspected to be suffering from any infectious or contagious disease can be accepted. All cats will be examined on arrival , but the proprietor reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of ill health, pending advice from a veterinary surgeon. Owners will appreciate that this is essential in order to safeguard the health of all the cats boarded. Veterinary attendance is assured (should this be necessary) and any treatment prescribed by a veterinary can be continued during the cats stay. We use spot on flea treatment. Any male cats over 6 months which have not been neutered can not be boarded, mainly because they present a infection hazard. Visitors are requested to touch no animal other than their own.
A full days board is charged for the days of arrival and departure. This is to allow for the chalet to be cleaned, disinfected and prepared for the next occupant. At Christmas,New year and all bank holidays the minimum fee equal to 5 days boarding will apply. A 3 day minimum applies at all other times. Please note that owners collecting their cats before the end of the period booked will be charged for the full period. Payment of boarding fees are payable at the time of arrival, except in the case of long term boarding, when payment is to be settled monthly.
We advise that you take your cat(s) to the cattery before you start packing for a holiday. Your cat may become unsettled and hide for hours or days if you start getting ready for holiday with them there. Tip. We recommend not washing any bedding before visiting the cattery as this can remove the familiar smells of home and make it harder for your cat to settle in. While at the cattery all cats are groomed and pampered daily and given just as much love as they would at home. Please feel free to bring toys, bedding or a scratching post if you want to, familiar items help your cat to settle in. Please treat your cats against fleas 2-3 days before boarding at Mandy’s cattery and remember your vaccination certificate.
