FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You’ve Got Questions. We’ve Got Answers.
HOW CAN I CHECK ON MY PET DURING THEIR STAY?
If you are concerned about your pet whilst you are away, you can contact us by email or phone and we will happily reassure you or send pictures of your cat.
MY PET HAS A SPECIAL DIET. CAN THEIR NEEDS BE ACCOMMODATED?
Absolutely, if your pet is on a special diet or schedule, we can adhere to your cats feeding schedule, but you may feel comfortable bringing in your cats food from home for us to use, please call us to discuss their special diets.
WHAT DO YOU SUPPLY FOR OVERNIGHT BOARDING?
We will supply food and bedding for your cat. However, we advise that you bring your own bedding as it will help your cat to settle better. Feel free to bring toys, bedding or a scratching post if you want to, familiar items help your cat to settle in, we recommend not washing any of the bedding before visiting the cattery as this can remove the familiar smells of home. Unfortunately, we cannot provide scratching posts as this presents a hygiene risk.
I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY CAT SETTLING IN
While at the cattery all cats are groomed and pampered daily and given just as much love as they would at home. We also play with your cats and give them treats (as advised by you) to help them settle in faster.
HOW SOON BEFORE BOARDING CAN I TREAT MY CAT FOR FLEAS?
Please treat your cats against fleas 2-3 days before boarding at Mandy’s cattery and remember your vaccination certificate!
DO YOU TAKE ANY OTHER ANIMALS?
Yes! We have occasionally taken in other small pets such as rabbits, we have our own hutch for outdoor rabbits which we put in the garden for them, or we have had indoor rabbit which would board in one of our standard chalets. Please call us to discuss this.
WHEN SHOULD WE BRING OUR CAT INTO THE CATTERY BEFORE OUR HOLIDAY?
We advise that you take your cat(s) to the cattery before you start packing for a holiday. Your cat may become unsettled and hide for hours or days if you start getting ready for holiday with them there.
